It is with great pride that I serve as President of the Emirates Gastroenterology & Hepatology Society. For thirty years, EGHS has united GI professionals across the UAE, and today our affiliations with WGO, ESGE, APAGE, and UEG connect our members to the wider region and the world. As we look ahead, our focus stays the same: strengthening education, advancing clinical guidelines, and building a Society our members are proud to be part of. To be the premier organization representing its members at national, regional and international platforms to ensure the highest possible standards of quality and efficient comprehensive care and practice of digestive diseases.
Mission
To advance the science and practice of gastroenterology and hepatology across the UAE, and to promote — among healthcare professionals and the wider public — an awareness of the prevention, early diagnosis, and optimal care of digestive and liver disorders, through high-quality education, training, clinical guidelines and advocacy for the patients we serve.
Objectives
- To generate awareness on the importance of digestive health and the early prevention of digestive diseases.
- To create a forum of medical experts who aim to keep the medical field updated.
- To contribute to the development of guidelines for the management of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in a multifaceted approach.
- To encourage the adoption of a healthy lifestyle as a key factor in preventing various digestive diseases.
